I have a idea for an alternate route where through the click of a hidden button or something discover he is cheating and then swap the cards while he isn't looking, allowing the player to win and get his wish of growth or riches or whatever

I'm sorry to hear that! Touch works a little different depending on the device and maybe it's a bug, but be sure to keep the click/finger down and stroke from the base to the tip. You don't need to do it very fast for it to work!
If still doesn't work, you can try with the desktop/Android version or tell me again and I will see if I can fix it : )
